Friday 12th December 2025 – Closed for Staff Christmas Party

Our office will close at 3pm on 12th December 2025 for our annual Christmas party.

Normal service will resume on Monday 15th December.

If you have an urgent problem that can't wait you'll be able to reach us via our website or at info@bluerockinsurance.co.uk

We’re celebrating our 10 year anniversary!

September 2025 marks 10 years since we took over Murphy Insurance in Ayr – and what a journey it has been.

In that time, we’ve grown the business more than eight-fold, earned recognition through local and national awards, and consistently achieved 90%+ satisfaction scores in both client and employee surveys.

Most importantly, we’ve done it organically, with much of our growth coming from client recommendations. That’s something we’re especially proud of, because it tells us we’re delivering on what matters most: handling the complex and time-consuming work, while also taking care of the basics – like answering the phone with a human touch.

Our journey has been built on three guiding pillars:
🔹 The best protection for clients
🔹 The best place for our staff to work
🔹 The best partner for insurers

Looking back, we’re proud of how far we’ve come – but even more grateful.

None of this would have been possible without the trust of our clients, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our insurer partners.

Here’s to the past 10 years, and to an exciting future ahead.

Thank you for being part of the Blue Rock story. 💙

CyberScotland Week – 26th February to 3rd March 2024

We will be attending key events at CyberScotland Week and it's a great time to raise awareness of cyber secturity and the emerging risks.

In today's digital landscape, businesses of all sizes are increasingly vulnerable to cyber attacks and data breaches. With instances of cybercrime and fraud on the rise, it's crucial to prioritise cyber security measures and consider cyber insurance as an essential component of your risk management strategy.

You can find more details about CyberScotland Week at https://www.cyberscotland.com/cyberscotlandweek/

Cyber insurance provides financial protection and expert support in the event of a cyber attack or data breach. It covers a range of expenses, including legal liabilities, ransomware payments, loss of profits, incident response costs, forensic investigations, legal fees, public relations expenses, customer notifications, and potential regulatory penalties.

By investing in cyber insurance and implementing robust cyber security controls, businesses can mitigate the financial and reputational damage caused by cyber incidents. It offers peace of mind and ensures that you have the necessary resources to recover swiftly from any cyber threats you may encounter.

Wine Tasting Underground!

A good night was had by all when we hosted the Aviva Glasgow Underwriting team in the fantastic (and historic) Corney & Barrow wine cellars that stretch under the streets of Ayr.

They're well worth a visit - we're becoming regulars!

Renewed Sponsorship for 2023/24 Season

We're proud to extend our relationships with both Ayr United and Ayr Rugby for the forthcoming season.

Both clubs have a rich history and a great story to tell about their current ambitions.

We wish them both the best of luck.

Choose Chartered: What our Chartered status means for you

Blue Rock are proud to have successfully applied to renew our status as Chartered Insurance Brokers, setting us apart from 95% of broking firms.

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has been entrusted with raising standards in the insurance and personal finance sectors since 1912. They award Chartered status to individual professionals as well as to firms themselves.

By choosing to subject themselves to the rigours of Chartered status, that relatively small band of firms have made a public commitment to professionalism, standards of excellence, ethics, qualifications and professional development.

By choosing Chartered, you are choosing an insurance broker that has set itself a higher bar than the rest.

Ayrshire Chamber Business Awards

We were honoured to be shortlisted for the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce 2022 Business Awards.

We are up for the "Problem Solver" category which we think suits us well.

Great to be involved in this event. It's a highlight of the Ayrshire business calendar that's been much missed over the past 2 years.

What is Company Culture?

It can be a difficult thing to get a hold of – even more difficult to measure and improve.

At Blue Rock we’ve used our own confidential staff surveys since the beginning. But in the middle of 2020 we were introduced to Engagement Multiplier and, via their online portal, we have been carrying out anonymous quarterly surveys ever since.

All of our team can give us completely honest feedback, in total confidence, and we can all see the improvements in engagement over time. The portal is also the place where we can share our plans and commit to the actions that we’re going to take in response to all the feedback.

As a result we’re always moving forward and I’m always blown away by the incredibly constructive feedback and great ideas that come from our people every time we run the survey. Participation is voluntary, but has always been 100% (and it’s confidential so you could totally swerve it and no-one would know!). I hope it helps that everyone knows we take every comment seriously and we want to be held accountable to the plans that come from them.

Our last Engagement score in July was 90.6 which is amazing - anything over 75 is considered a fully Engaged team. To quote Engagement Multiplier, “Everything Grows, Everybody Wins”!
